Philippians 2:20-21 NIV
[20] I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare. [21] For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.
Written by Jung
This is Paul's testimony about Timothy to the Christians in Philippi. The way he praises Timothy is noteworthy. He doesn't introduce Timothy simply for the sake of gaining respect or special treatment from the Philippians, as worldly people often do.
According to Paul, Timothy is selfless for the sake of others in Christ. Therefore, Timothy would be someone who cares for and loves the Philippians with sincerity.
It took a long time to build such trust. This trust was built on a sincere relationship and mutual interest in loving God's holy people in Christ.
This relationship and trust are destined to last for eternity. That is how we should view and treat each other, keeping in mind our eternal relationship. We're not just fulfilling the roles of fellow brothers and sisters, but we are becoming those who hold eternal significance in God’s Kingdom.
