Vuku Scholar Parents

Site C Vuku Youth came to visit with their parents. We had a wonderful time. Also, Pastor Kim from Lesutho joined us as well.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
John 14:13‭-‬14 NIV

There is a Genie joke that I like. It goes like this: Three best friends got lost in the desert and walked for days without finding anything. Out of the blue, a Genie appeared and offered them three wishes. They decided to wish for one thing each. The first guy wished to be in a mansion with his family. Poof! He was gone. The second guy wished to find a gorgeous wife and go on a honeymoon. Poof! It was done. When it came to the last guy, he looked around and found himself alone in the desert. Then, he wished, "I wish my best friends were here with me." Poof!

Our days are often spent fool-proofing our lives and future plans, as the joke above demonstrates a need for it. When we eventually realize our limitations, we seek a higher power for help. At first, we start integrating God into our plans, as if God and our own mutual benefits would secure our plans.

However, the only secure future we have is God's plan for us. The plan that is not spoiled or tainted by our selfish ambitions or desires. God is fool-proofing our lives for eternity, not just the next 5 years. Therefore, it is crucial for us to empty our hearts and seek His will. When we find it, we need to renew our hearts each and every day to test and approve His good and perfect will for us (Romans 12:2, Vuku Meeting 15 - The Meaning of My Life).

When we understand His good and perfect will, we will know what must be done... and trust me, you already know.

In Jesus' name.
