"This is a precious family."
This is a Paarl vuku group. Mrs. Kang says "This is a precious family."
His disciples asked him what this parable meant. He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, “ ‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’
Luke 8:9-10 NIV
Written by Jung
The parables were frequently used by Jesus to teach about the truth and the Kingdom of heaven. Metaphorical teaching is not a new concept, especially in ancient teachings. Despite being common in those days, Jesus veiled the meaning of his parables from others. While anyone can derive an understanding or a lesson from them, what were the secrets that the disciples were supposed to gain from his teachings?
Three common and sometimes contradicting reactions to Jesus' teachings are evident in people.
Firstly, individuals often compare Jesus' teachings to what they already know and understand, molding his teachings to support their own ideas. Others attempt to interpret the teachings in the context of the new life they have received from Jesus Christ.
The second type of reaction involves taking his teachings as a warning and applying them to others for criticism or condemnation. On the other hand, some apply his teachings to self-examination, seeking to draw closer to Jesus.
Lastly, some perceive Jesus' teachings as heavy, burdensome, and frightening, while others find true encouragement through affirmation and discover Jesus' love in them.
It is our responsibility to help one another truly see and understand the love of Jesus Christ and his unwavering offering of new ways, edification, and encouragement for us.
